Sonic is anti-communist propaganda

I remember hearing this somewhere and to this day it's been stuck in my head.

The thing is Sonic has a red-white-blue colour scheme, in contrast to Robotnik's/Eggman's/Baldy McNosehair's yellow-red colouring scheme. These are the same colours as the American and Soviet flags. Along with this, Sonic 1 came out just as the Cold War was wrapping up. Sonic collects huge amounts of rings (average image of capitalism), while Robotnik creates sad grey industrial dystopias (stereotypical image of Soviet cities). To go along with the Soviet city thing, Sonic lives in a beautiful paradise.

Of course, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, this message (if it even was intended) was thrown out the window, still, it's something interesting to think about...
