known bug- login browser crash

while testing the final egg event friday night i noticed a nasty bug where logging in then trying to submit your data crashes the browser because there is no login page\prompt

what are everyone suggestions to fix this?
should i:

1.) add login to the initial connect messages? where before you access the site you're required to login?

2.) add a login link and let people discover the late login crash for themselves?

3.) other suggestion?

has anyone else encountered this glitch?
