The Egg Carrier's Chao garden is so fucking bad

Don't get me wrong, I dig the aesthetic, but holy shit is it flawed.

The main issue is the damn water. The entry point is flawed and the water is the main reason. If you go in, there's a good chance the animals you collected will just fall into the abyss below, pair that with Sonic Adventure's already iffy system of holding items and it's just really frustrating to get them back.

Alongside that, some characters, more specifically E-102 Gamma, just seem to work against this garden. Back to the water issue, Gamma literally floats on water, so walking into this garden as him means permanently losing some animals.

It's also pretty flawed in another significant way, the hill in the centre. A cool set piece, but it makes herding your Chao more difficult. Once I was exploring the garden and came across some Chao I literally don't remember raising at the back of the hill, it was so well hidden.

I really like what they were going for with this garden, but the way they built it makes it look like it was added in 5 minutes before the game's release. If they just took a step back and remade the garden from scratch, it could've been the best one in the game. Hell, I'll fucking build a new one in the Hammer Editor if someone wants to mod it in. I just really hate the poor design of this garden.

MAKE A DLC FOR IT!!!!! No need to mod it in. This games dlc patching method allows for nice level edits naturally (I mean a dlc was just made 2 years ago)

They definitely could have made e-102 work better there, but personally I'm a sucker for Sega water. I adore the place.
