Chao Puzzle: Hidden VMU game in Sonic Adventure

Just something I thought was cool and didn't know about till recent. After booting Sonic Adventure, inserting a controller with a VMU in controller port 4. It will launch a hidden VMU game called Chao Puzzle, which is just a simple slider game that rewards you with a little animation after you complete each puzzle.

But why?

I wonder if that ever fucked over some random kid
