I detest the somersault

I don't like this move, and it is made worse by the fact it's mapped to the same button as the Light Speed Dash. It's insufferable trying to dash into a path of rings only to have your speed completely killed by the Somersault. I'm trying to go fast dammit!

Because of Yuji Naka's one-button philosophy, every SA2 player gets cucked by the Somersault at least once.

I almost had a world record time for crazy gadget, but the fucking somersault button ruined it. I tried to spindash and instead fell due to a somersault.

Tried to save myself with the light dash cuz there were some rings but the fucking BOUNCE happened cuz thats mapped to light dash as WELL

Too true. I can be speeding through levels with record time only to have the somersault screw up some basic move.

I hate the one-button system.

I once was in the chao garden. I was about to pickup my chao, but I accidentally hit it because of somersault. also, I hit the B button for just 1 frame so when I ran to the chao, it kept taking serious damage due to the glitch.

If there was a mod (for DC) that remapped the buttons, I would probably play SA2 a lot more often. Poor controls kill games for me, and having to rely on the game to determine which of the four applications of the action button it is going to run is easily my least favorite thing about SA2.

Tapping the action button should've just started Sonic rolling at his current speed like it does for Tails and Knuckles in SA1. Y could've easily been light speed dash. You could even keep the bounce on the action button.
