GUIDE: DC E-mail Fix by Shuouma

Shuouma has done it again. he created a custom dreampi script that allows sending and receiving e-mail from dreamcast again. this also restores the Sega Swirl game

this only works for GMAIL. its reccomended to use a dedicated gmail account for personal use on DC

First either connect your dreampi to TV with an HDMI cable and a keyboard, OR SSH into the Pi using PuTTY

username is pi
password is raspberry

type
wget http://dreampipe.net/mail/dcgmail.sh

(if you don't have wget installed you can install it by typing "sudo apt-get install wget" without quotations)

then type
chmod +x dcgmail.sh

this makes the script executable. then type
sudo su

this elevates to admin permissions, then execute the script with
./dcgmail.sh

it will ask you for your gmail info

gmail username: input just email account name without "@gmail.com", so if your email is foo@gmail.com you'd just input "foo"

gmail password: input your password

POP password: this can be anything to input into the dreamcast browser settings

then configure your browser settings. POP and SMTP servers are the address of your Pi (typically x.x.x.99). the dc browser setting for "Password" is the POP password you input above

you can now send and recieve emails among the DC community
